Sustainability

A focus on creating clothes that won't harm our planet was important to the label since day one. All materials are either deadstock, certified organic or 100 percent natural; synthetic polyester is never used. Launches happen as limited-edition drops, limiting the possibility of overstock or surplus inventory that eventually makes its way to a landfill.

Every aspect of the supply chain and creation process is carefully considered, from the origin of the fabric to the shipping materials orders are sent out in. Sustainability isn't limited to organic or consciously harvested material either: All MIUSA products are handmade in the United States by workers paid fairly and treated with respect.

With a background in textiles and design, Alyssa designs each collection with an eye to subtle details. Classic silhouettes are reimagined and reworked, finished with thoughtful touches that stand out and add a unique, MIUSA touch.

Everything is handcrafted in New Jersey by an Italian-trained seamstress with over 50 years of experience in the garment industry. Concetta migrated from Sicily to the USA 40 years ago to pursue her fashion career. She spent most of her years working in the Garment District in New York City. Concetta not only sews for MIUSA, in addition she creates all pattern pieces from the designs of the founder. The passion Conni has for pattern making and sewing is immense. Each piece is so carefully made with each stitch done to perfection. Our imited-edition collections allow for each piece to be truly bespoke, offered in small quantities that sell out quickly.
